Xeroform petrolatum gauze is woven cotton gauze saturated with xeroform antiseptic and soft paraffin base. Xeroform delivers mild antibacterial activity, while paraffin coating creates non-adherent lubricating barrier to prevent gauze fiber adhesion to fragile granulation tissue, suitable for long-term superficial wound care.
Instructions for use
✢ Clean wound bed and surrounding skin with sterile saline, gently blot peripheral skin dry.
✢ Select matching xeroform gauze size, aseptically open pouch and retrieve medicated gauze.
✢ Trim gauze with sterile scissors for irregular wound contours, apply secondary absorbent dressing over gauze layer.
✢ Lay xeroform gauze flat onto wound surface, secure outer dressing edges with medical tape.
Indications
✢ Superficial burns, skin graft donor sites, low-exudate chronic ulcers, postoperative superficial incisions, abrasions, shallow cavity wound packing, fragile skin lesions.
